ISBF Award Opportunities at the 2023 Biofabrication Conference

ISBF Awards will be given in person on September 19th at the ISBF’s annual meeting, Biofabrication 2023. The 2023 ISBF Awards program recognizes our society members with distinguished achievements. In addition to the ISBF-sponsored awards, the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM) Young Investigator Award, recognizing early-stage researchers, and the IOP best poster award will also be announced at the 2022 ISBF Awards Ceremony. All eligible individuals are encouraged to apply. Details are posted on the ISBF and Biofabrication 2023 conference websites.

Call for Nominations: 2022 ISBF Election

The ISBF Executive Board is inviting nominations for seven (7) new Board Member positions (3 from Asia, 3 from the Americas, and 1 from Europe) this year. The terms of the Board Members are three (3) years. Reappointment is possible. The nominee must be an active member of ISBF in good standing.

Important Dates:

  • Nomination deadline: July 15, 2022
  • Online Election: August 1 – August 22, 2022

When providing your recommendations of nominees or self-nominate, please email Marcy Zenobi-Wong (marcy.zenobi@hest.ethz.ch) with the nominee’s contact information, as well as a brief statement on why you are proposing this person as a board member of ISBF.

The results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting during the 2022 Biofabrication Conference and posted on the ISBF website.


Solicitation of Proposals for the 2024 Biofabrication Conference

The International Society for Biofabrication (ISBF) cycles its annual meetings on different continents each year; Asia Pacific: Australia (2021), Europe: Italy (2022), Americas: Canada (2023). The 2024 meeting is planned to be held in the Asia Pacific region. The ISBF would like to announce the solicitation of proposals to host the 2024 Biofabrication Conference in the Asia Pacific location.

If you are interested in hosting the 2024 Biofabrication Conference, please contact Professor Juergen Groll, Chair of the Conference Committee (juergen.groll@fmz.uni-wuerzburg.de) to request a meeting host application form.
The deadline for submitting proposals for the 2024 Biofabrication Conference is July 31, 2022.

Call for Nominations: 2022 ISBF Election

The ISBF Executive Board is inviting nominations for seven (7) new Board Member positions (3 from Asia, 3 from the Americas, and 1 from Europe) this year. The terms of the Board Members are three (3) years. Reappointment is possible. The nominee must be an active member of ISBF in good standing.

Important Dates:

  • Nomination deadline: July 15, 2022
  • Online Election: August 1 – August 22, 2022

When providing your recommendations of nominees or self-nominate, please email Marcy Zenobi-Wong (marcy.zenobi@hest.ethz.ch) with the nominee’s contact information, as well as a brief statement on why you are proposing this person as a board member of ISBF.

The results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting during the 2022 Biofabrication Conference and posted on the ISBF website.


Solicitation of Proposals for the 2024 Biofabrication Conference

The International Society for Biofabrication (ISBF) cycles its annual meetings on different continents each year; Asia Pacific: Australia (2021), Europe: Italy (2022), Americas: Canada (2023). The 2024 meeting is planned to be held in the Asia Pacific region. The ISBF would like to announce the solicitation of proposals to host the 2024 Biofabrication Conference in the Asia Pacific location.

If you are interested in hosting the 2024 Biofabrication Conference, please contact Professor Juergen Groll, Chair of the Conference Committee (juergen.groll@fmz.uni-wuerzburg.de) to request a meeting host application form.
The deadline for submitting proposals for the 2024 Biofabrication Conference is July 31, 2022.


ISBF Award Opportunities at the 2022 Biofabrication Conference

The 2022 ISBF Awards will be presented during the 2022 Biofabrication Conference. The 2022 ISBF Awards program recognizes our society members with distinguished achievements in each award category. The ISBF award categories include: 1) Senior Investigator Award (1x), 2) Mid-Career Investigator Award (1x), 3) Early-Career Investigator Award (3x), 4) New Investigator Awards (3x), 5) Best Podium Presentation Awards (3x), 6) Best Poster Presentation Awards (3x), and 7) Travel Awards (12x).

In addition to the ISBF-sponsored awards, the following awards will also be announced at the 2022 ISBF Awards Ceremony: 8) the University of Pisa Biofabrication Laboratory (UPBL) Innovation in Biofabrication award (1x) and 9) the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM) Young Investigator Award (1x). Both of these awards recognize early-stage researchers.

All eligible individuals are encouraged to apply. Details are posted on the ISBF and 2022 Biofabrication Conference websites.

The 2022 Biofabrication Conference will be hosted by the University of Pisa in Tuscany, Italy,
from September 25-28, 2022. The conference aims at bringing together leading academic
scientists and researchers to exchange and share their know-how and results on all aspects of Biofabrication.

2021 ISBF Election Results for the Board of Directors Positions

The ISBF Board of Directors would like to welcome the newly elected Board Members. In this year’s election, we have implemented the diversity and equality policy. Six (6) new Board Members, consisting of equal gender from Academia and Non-Academia, were elected to the Board of Directors. We are fortunate to have these distinguished leaders in the field join the BOD. The term of service is 3 years beginning on January 1, 2022 and ending on December 31, 2024.
